Through USU' s initiatives, the coalition identifies best practices and innovative models that can be implemented nationally. The coalition is working to strengthen federal public policy for the benefit of all urban communities and metropolitan regions. USU formulates federal proposals and engages with Congress and the Administration on legislation regarding a variety of issues, including the Higher Education Act, Elementary and Secondary Education Act/No Child Left Behind, and Housing and Urban Development.
