USU Data and Recommendations on the Health Workforce Webinar
The Urban Serving Universities conducted a survey of member institutions over the fall 2010 regarding institutional activities and outcomes to develop an adequate, diverse, and culturally competent health workforce. This data collection is part of USU's commitment to develop programmatic efforts and drive a national policy agenda for urban university engagement based on evidence.
A webinar was held on April 28th, 2011 to share the survey data findings and discuss the preliminary recommendations. The webinar engaged a broad dialogue of health leadership, representing 27 member campus and all health professions. Based on the feedback from USU institutions, a final set of recommendations is being developed that will be included in the Coalition's Report on the Urban Health Workforce (draft to be released in the Summer, 2011). These recommendations will go to USU Presidents and form the basis for coalition action and advocacy with regards to our health agenda.
