About the Event

Designing and Innovating to enSure underRepresented University Personnel Thrive (DISRUPT) is USU's second Intensive and Pitch Compeition for the Advancing Racial Justice & Equity Intensive workstream! With the support of the Thriving Universities Advisory Group, USU is looking for effective or promising approaches using equity-centered data to “DISRUPT” organizational and academic culture to ensure the recruitment, retention, and success of underrepresented/minoritized faculty and/or staff.

The Intensive is a condensed capacity-building, idea-sharing, and skill-building convening meant to spur innovation and action around university-led approaches to addressing inequities on campus and/or in their cities.

The winning pitch will receive a $20,000 mini-grant! The competition is an opportunity for universities to articulate new or ongoing projects designed to improve outcomes for stakeholders in the university-city ecosystem.

An informational video with more details is available on the USU Intensive and Pitch Competition Series webpage. Please contact Melissa Rivas (mrivas@aplu.org), Assistant Director at USU, for more information about the initiative.
