Mental Health and Supporting Student Well-being Resources during Covid 19

Well before Covid 19, mental health had already established itself as a major challenge and priority on college campuses.  With Covid 19, enforced isolation and the rapid movement of courses on-lines, we can expect these challenges to grow. In what follows, we provide a serious of resources that might help students, faculty, and administrators navigate through this crisis and beyond.  We will update this page as we learn of more resources. If you know of additional materials, please leave them in the comments and we will add them in.

For Students

  1. Help A Friend in Need, a publication by the Jed Foundation, details potential warning signs on Facebook and Instagram that a friend is in emotional distress and what to do about it. The JED Foundation protects emotional health and prevents suicide for teens and young adults.  This resource is also available in Spanish – Ayudo A Un Amigo Que Lo Necesita

  2. Crisis Text Line – to get immediate access to a trained crisis counselor via text or Facebook Messenger.

  3. Culturally Trained Crisis Text Counselors – A service from The Steve Fund, which is dedicated to the mental health and emotional well-being of students of color.
